Durban Christmas 2012

Durban produced a roasting hot day for our Christmas 2012 which we spent with family and friends. It was Llewellyn's sister and her husband Matt's first Christmas in their new home in Durban, having made the intelligent move from Johannesburg and we all brought something to the table for a fabulous feast.

My kids arrived in the afternoon so we had more present opening and joy with the brats before they woke us up again at 2.30am to pack the car for their trip with mates to Mocambique for New Year.

Boxing Day flight and lunch at Alverstone

Christmas Day we make merry at home. Boxing Day we usually go out to visit family. This time there were 9 of us with Llewellyn's kids and Dad, my kids and my mom, all visiting the Galways on their farm at Alverstone. There is a little airstrip which ends right at their gate on the farm across the road, so we decided to fly in while our kids drove up there with the eats and drinks. But the left-over Christmas food was aplenty and what a feast we had.

Christmas at home with the brats 2011

Some Christmas Day photos

I have awesome kids and a wonderful family and Christmas is the one day we get together for a feast. We kept it simple this year - tried my hand at cooking a smoked gammon which turned out excellently (as a side dish) and for mains we had a braai and salads with potatoe bake, finishing off with an incredible Lemon Merangue Pie that Lynn baked and loads of sweets and things the kids spoiled me with. After lunch the kids coaxed me into the pool - what is wrong with our water that it's still on the cilled side at the end of December. Thanks Llewellyn, the kids and my brats for all making this an awesome day.

Family Christmas 2010

We enjoyed a wonderfull Christmas day with the kids at The Terrace. Kate-Lynn played Mother Christmas and dished out the prezzies followed by a scrumptious gammon and lamb roast with pudding by Lynn.

OIffice Christmas party

Kate-Lynn's 22nd birthday doubled as my Office Christmas party so it was a good reason to celebrate. Brad sang some tunes, Ian, Mark and Dain also helped out.
